Top 5 Crazy CBD Myths Debunked: What you should know in 2021
The internet is full of articles and people who claim that CBD is ineffective and fails to deliver the desired results. Crazy cannabis myths have circulated with people that you will come across different assumptions and myths regarding CBD products.
Some people say CBD is not worth it or these products even have side effects. To put this simply all these myths and assumptions point towards the fact that it is all a waste of money but don’t be to sure.
To put this straight, this is false! People who understand CBD products know that these products are safe and can be consumed for their benefits.
Therefore, in this article, I am going to mention the Top 5 myths related to CBD products.
So, let’s get started!
Top 5 CBD Oil Facts/Myths Debunked: What you should know in 2021
Myth 1: CBD oil has no medical benefits backed by research.
CBD Oil Fact:
You can find a lot of articles on the internet that claim that CBD has no proven medical benefits and it does not help to improve health conditions. Also, there are a lot of people who will say that CBD has no concrete evidence that can prove its efficacy for common health conditions.
But, both are completely false! CBD has a lot of scientifically proven health benefits.
Recently, FDA approved Epidiolex, which is a CBD-based medication used for treating seizure disorders that are difficult to treat.
This is the first CBD drug that has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration agency.
Now, this is a big moment for the CBD industry because cannabis was treated under schedule 1, which refers to a drug that has no medical value. But, the scientific research shows otherwise, and that is why the FDA has finally approved the drug.
Many people are advocates of the fact that a schedule 1 drug cannot have medical benefits, so this destroys the schedule 1 argument of such people!
Myth 2: Being a schedule 1 drug, there is no research being done on Cannabis
CBD Oil Fact:
True !! Most drugs that fall under the schedule 1 category do not have any research being done. In the United States, Universities are allowed to research cannabis.
A recent study was done at Columbia University, which involved the use of CBD to treat glioblastoma, which causes the buildup of a cancerous brain tumor in adults. The standard treatment involves surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
When CBD was introduced to the test subjects, it was successful to weaken the cancer cells and it did not affect the healthy cells.
Therefore, this is a false statement that “no research has been done on CBD in the United States”.
One thing that people need to understand is that CBD is not the best medicine and does not cure cancer, anxiety, and other health conditions such as ulcerative colitis. But, there are some research studies done by credible sources that show that cannabis can help in improving the health condition.
Myth 3: All CBD based products are scams
CBD Oil Fact:
Many states have legalized the use of cannabis for recreational purposes. Realizing the potential benefits of cannabis products, many high quality brands have introduced their line of CBD oils, vapes, and other products.
Most products are being created to provide the benefits of CBD without giving the “high” that people. But, keep in mind that not every CBD product can be suitable for you, you should consult with an experienced CBD practitioner or buy from a reputable company.
Like in any other industry, some products consist of ingredients that are not essentially required to be in the product, but the manufacturers add some filler ingredients to charge extra money for the same.
Therefore, it is not necessary that CBD has to be an ingredient in all products, but some products provide the benefits of CBD during its legitimate applications.
Myth 4: CBD Oil does not work!
CBD Oil Fact:
Out of all the CBD myths, this is the worst. I have read articles myself where people try to say that CBD does not work or I found articles that said that it works for the first or the second week, but eventually the benefits diminish and it’s all not worth it!
Now, you need to understand that if you are not trying to treat any medical condition, then you have to check that whether you have any condition or symptom that the CBD product can treat because all cannabis-based products are manufactured to provide relief under certain symptoms and conditions.
But, most people just assume that CBD products will give you relief under any condition, and that’s where they get it wrong because CBD products are designed to provide relief under specific medical conditions.
Also, if you are considering consuming CBD products, then you have to consult with the doctor and check whether it works for you or not. But, such products are not recommended to certain people right away such as pregnant /breastfeeding women.
Myth 5: The CBD industry is not legitimate – CBD products are not legitimate
CBD Oil Fact:
This is a fact that cannabis is not legalized in a lot of states of the USA, so it is a 100% percent grey market product in those regions, whereas hemp is legal, but this makes the CBD Industry kind of sketchy and hence the CBD products are called as sketchy products .
Now, multiple lab reports prove that most of the products sold as CBD-based products have little or no CBD in them. Therefore, a lot of products do not get approval from the FDA. So, there are a lot of quality concerns among the potential CBD buyers across the country.
Most people are not able to tell the difference between junk CBD products and quality CBD products. This applies to a lot of products sold across the internet.
For example, when you visit the market to buy aloe vera gel that helps in getting relief from the sunburns. You buy the product, but fail to provide you the desired results. There are chances that the product might have 2% aloe vera and 98% colors and other additives. But, there are still aloe vera gels that are capable of providing relief from sunburns.
The same can be considered in the case of CBD products, where some products might fail, but that does not mean that CBD is ineffective. The product you bought would have been ineffective!
Therefore, you should always check the product label thoroughly and purchase from a reputed dispensary.
Make the right purchase: Research is the key!
The last point that I would like to quote is that you have to do your research before buying a CBD product.
Here are some of the things that you can check on the back of the product label:
- Check for the FDA approval for any CBD-based medication.
- Check whether there is any research being done on the CBD compound you are looking to buy(if not available in the US, then check for research done in other countries.
- Always buy the product from a reputable source and local dealers are a big no!
- Consider using CBD products at specific conditions rather than consuming them regularly.
- All CBD products are not created equal, so do not hesitate to ask before buying a CBD product.
